American Bullion was established in 2009, making it one of the newer gold IRA companies. In 2014 American Bullion is considered to be amongst the better options to choose for doing a gold IRA/401K rollover, they even have a sales team dedicated to each individual precious metal.
My Opinion From Speaking With American Bullion
American Bullion was one of the first companies I spoke with. I did find them to be very informative and overall felt the company was competent and potentially a good choice for me to invest with, for this reason they were on my short list towards the end of my search for a gold company .
However, upon doing further research into American Bullion I found a few disturbing complaints on the BBB & BCA that ultimately lead to me not doing business with them.
Things I Like About American Bullion
- Great score with TrustLink.
- Has an A rating in the BBB, and a AAA in the BCA.
- Informative staff that is very knowledgeable about the metals being sold.
- Large inventory of rare/collectible coins.
Things I Didn’t Like About American Bullion
- Complaints on the BBB that weren’t resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Complaints dealing with shady sales tactics, including dishonesty regarding commissions.
- Charge numerous fees that many competitors do not, such as admin, annual, storage, and even transactional fees.
American Bullion Better Business Bureau (BBB) Rating & Review
American Bullion currently has an A rating with the BBB, this rating is very high, although not an A+; the highest possible score, a score some of their competition has.
They have been accredited with the BBB since March of 2011. Upon reviewing their BBB page you may notice there are currently four logged complaints all that took place in 2013.
Two of these complaints were resolved and had to do with advertising/sales issues. This problem of shady sales tactics seems to be a recurring issue with American Bullion from the research I’ve conducted, however I myself did not actually feel that way when speaking with them.
For the other two complaints, the BBB found American Bullion to have made a good effort to resolve the complaints; however, they were not actually resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It took me months and many phone calls to finally select a company. In the end I confidently trusted Regal Assets. There are a number of reasons I chose Regal Assets, you can read my full Regal Assets review here.
Every conversation I had with my rep from Regal Assets was not only informative but also very helpful throughout the process. I was very impressed with their customer service; however the deciding factor to choosing Regal Assets over the other companies I contacted was the overwhelming social proof.
An A+ BBB rating, an AAA BCA rating, over 400 5-Star reviews on TrustLink, notable mentions and ratings in highly respected publications, an honest and knowledgeable customer support and a customer friendly, easy to understand fee structure are the reasons I invested with Regal Assets.
